You Can Now Book Toronto's Revue Cinema for Private Movie Parties

Theatres may still be closed to public screenings in Ontario, but soon you'll at least be able to book your own private movie parties thanks to Toronto's Revue Cinema.

Having weathered the financial storm of the past year's lockdowns, the Revue is back and ready to receive your bookings of parties up to 20 people through July 30 to August 27. Movie parties are going for a discounted rate of $300 per viewing (concessions excluded) and films that run for two hours or less and are available on Blu-ray are eligible. The theatre's entire library of films is also up for viewing.

The Roncesvalles not-for-profit, community-run cinema announced its plan to get film fans back in its seats earlier today, posting a link to a new booking website along with the following message:

Picture it: you're sitting in the historic Revue Cinema, watching your favourite movie, with your favourite people, eating our famous popcorn, basking in the glory of cinema — this can be all yours when you book a private movie party this summer

COVID regulations obviously still apply, so attendees will be required to keep two metres distance from other viewers and wear a mask inside the theatre — except to snack on popcorn, of course. Additionally, the Revue has installed a new HVAC system for extra-safe ventilation.

The space is available to rent nearly every day during the month-long period, with showings running at 1, 4, and 7 p.m. ET.
