We're at the point where it's more surprising when an old TV show doesn't come back in one way or another, but here's another reboot to add to the growing list. After a lengthy run from 1995 to 2001, Xena: Warrior Princess is set to return.

Deadline confirmed the news that the show is being rebooted for television by NBC. The comeback has been rumoured all year, though it hadn't been officially confirmed until now.

The Xena reboot is being handled by executive producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, who also handled the original. Lost's Javier Grillo-Marxuach will write the series, and will also executive produce.

At this point, Lucy Lawless has not yet been confirmed for the show. That said, the rumour mill suggests producers want her back on board to play the titular character.

Stay tuned for more information on the Xena reboot as it becomes available.
