Watch 'Riverdale' Actor KJ Apa Shred Guitar Onstage in Vancouver

Turns out Archie can really wail

On Riverdale, actor KJ Apa plays the ultimate stereotype of the cheesy white dude with an acoustic guitar. Well, it appears that Archie actually knows how to shred, since footage has emerged of him playing guitar onstage in Vancouver with Canadian party-rock trio the Steadies.

The Steadies hail from Saskatoon, and they were playing at Vancouver's Guilt & Co. on Saturday (December 15) when the New Zealand-born Apa joined them onstage. According to TMZ, Apa frequently goes to the bar to see live music, since Riverdale films nearby.

Video footage shows Apa playing a couple of funky tunes with the Steadies, including some pretty impressive wah-wah soloing and lots of John Mayer-esque guitar face. He was also wearing a truly ridiculous jacket and sunglasses, which can be seen above.

Apa wrote on Instagram, "funky as fuuuuu. Let's do that again please lads."

As the Georgia Straight points out, the actor has played onstage with a few bands over the last couple years in Vancouver.

All of this might not come as a surprise to hardcore Archie fans, since Apa has been known to post some wanky webcam videos of his guitar chops.
