Robert Zemeckis is set to direct a new Pinocchio movie, but first he'll deliver a long-gestating Roald Dahl adaptation. Today, we get the first trailer for The Witches.
The film stars Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth and Chris Rock. Rather than looking anything like the Quentin Blake illustrations that so often populate Dahl's books, the film looks more like a standard kids movie.
The Witches had previously been scheduled for a theatrical release, first in June and then October, but it will now come out on HBO Max on October 22. The film will also receive a theatrical release in Canada.
