There are many, many reasons to watch Phantom Thread without watching its trailer — it was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, it features a score from Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, it will be Daniel Day-Lewis' final film. Knowing all of that, one could assume that a movie about paint drying would still be interesting in these people's capable hands. Fortunately, Phantom Thread looks like much more.
Day-Lewis stars Reynolds Woodcock, a dressmaker who is obsessed with his work and his lover. As could be expected, the trailer suggests another eye-popping emotional thriller from Anderson, complete with some seriously impressive wardrobe work.
