While political comedy is more popular than ever before, there are few satirists with the razor-sharp wit of Armando Iannucci. The auteur known for Veep, The Thick of It and last year's The Death of Stalin is now looking to take on Trump with a new political comedy.
In an all too timely turn of events, Iannucci's latest film was initially pitched in the form of a tweet:
According to Deadline, eight different studios have shown interest in the pitch, and one even put in a "big offer" yesterday (September 6). Apparently Iannucci has settled on the working title Fake America Great Again for the project.
While the pitch is still just in its tweet phase, it looks as though casting has already begun:
