Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Reteam for 'Waves' Score

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 3, 2018

Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have announced their next film project. The pair will create the score to Waves.

The film marks Trey Edward Shults' directorial follow-up to 2017's It Comes at Night and is described as a "dramatic musical with a fresh spin." It follows two teenage couples as they navigate life and young love, and will be almost entirely synchronized to music.

It stars Manchester by the Sea and Lady Bird star Lucas Hedges, as well as Emmy-winning This Is Us actor Sterling K. Brown.

In addition to Reznor and Ross' score, the film will also feature "iconic contemporary songs."

Waves is expected to start production next month.

Reznor and Ross previously collaborated on acclaimed film scores for The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day and Before the Flood, as well as Ken Burns' series The Vietnam War.
