​Tom Hanks Will Receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Next Year's Golden Globes

The nominees for next year's Golden Globes haven't even been announced yet, but we already know that Tom Hanks will be a winner. He has been named as the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
 
The annual award is given to an "individual who has made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment."
 
Previous winners include Morgan Freeman, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster and Jeff Bridges.
 
Hanks has been a long-time favourite of fans for memorable roles in films like Splash, Sleepless in Seattle, Saving Private Ryan, You've Got Mail, Toy Story and Captain Phillips, while he has won the Best Actor Golden Globe for his performances in Big, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump and Cast Away.
 
He also won Academy Awards for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.
 
This year, Hanks portrayed Mr. Rogers on the big screen in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, which premiered at TIFF earlier this month.

The upcoming Golden Globes will take place on January 5.
