Guelph folk performer Ivan Rivers certainly didn't take a traditional route in the video for his new track "Confidante." Instead, he teamed up with Tim & Eric collaborator David Liebe Hart to create a moving short film of sorts.
Directed by Danny Dunlop, the video sees Liebe Hart sing songs on the streets of London, ON. As a press writeup says, "Much like The Comedy was to Tim Heidecker and Entertainment to Neil Hamburger, 'Confidante' is Liebe Hart's quiet, nuanced masterwork."
Whether or not the video lives up to those cultishly adored Rick Alverson films is for the viewer to decide. You can watch the video for "Confidante" in full below.
