'Tiger King' Star Joe Exotic Is in Coronavirus Isolation in Prison

Tiger King star Joe Exotic has been transferred to a new prison facility and placed in isolation after a number of inmates at his previous jail tested positive for COVID-19.

Joe Exotic (a.k.a Joseph Maldonado-Passage) was recently moved from Grady County Jail in Oklahoma to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. He has now been placed in isolation after authorities learned that inmates at the Oklahoma prison had tested positive for the coronavirus.

"We speak like three to five times every day, but since he's been moved to this new facility, they are putting him on a COVID-19 isolation because of the previous jail he was at, there were cases," Maldonado-Passage's husband Dillon Passage told celebrity interviewer Andy Cohen on Wednesday (April 1). "I've yet to speak to him since he moved."

The pair were married in December 2017 and remain together while Maldonado-Passage is serving a 22-year sentence for the murder-for-hire plot against animal activist Carole Baskin detailed in the Netflix series Tiger King.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons said earlier this week that all 146,000 prisoners in federal facilities will be put in quarantine for 14 days, after dozens of federal inmates and at least 37 guards tested positive for COVID-19.

In other Tiger King news, Maldonado-Passage told one of the directors on the Netflix series that he wants either Brad Pitt or "Joe Dirt" to play him onscreen if a film adaptation of his wild story ever comes to fruition.
