The Weeknd Is a (Control) Freak in the New Teaser for 'The Idol'

His sick and twisted mind is at it again

After getting our first peephole into the Weeknd's Sam Levinson (Euphoria) co-created HBO series The Idol this summer, Abel Tesfaye's sick and twisted mind is at it again with another preview of the forthcoming drama.

Described as "the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood," Tesfaye plays a producer, self-help guru and cult leader — the ultimate multi-hyphenate, really — who apparently needs "full control, no matter fucking what." He falls in love with a pop star, well-equipped to "look into the camera and fuck all of America," played by Lily-Rose Depp.

Obviously set in Los Angeles, a.k.a. where all of the monsters of the world come to gather, the series also features appearances from Dan Levy, cockblocker Troye Sivan, Tunde Adebimpe and BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim.

Still ominously slated as "coming to HBO Max in 2023," we'll be seeing more of all of America getting fucked via The Idol in the vaguely near future.
