Ahead of the Resident Evil universe returning to the big screen next year, the Capcom series' live-action film franchise has levelled up with a massive new box set.
The Resident Evil 4K Ultra HD Collection, out now through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, gives viewers the most expansive view of the Raccoon City saga to date, bringing together all six films in 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos audio for the first time.
Based on the popular video game series, the Resident Evil film franchise stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, a security specialist-turned-covert operative who seeks to bring down former employers the Umbrella Corporation upon learning of the company's development of biological weapons.
The 12-disc Resident Evil 4K Ultra HD Collection features Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (both the original theatrical version and its fabled extended cut), Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Retribution and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, all of which come loaded with bonus features.
Highlights of the series' debut include the film's alternate ending and music video for Slipknot's soundtrack contribution "My Plague," while viewers can go behind the scenes of Apocalypse with documentary "Game Over: Resident Evil Reanimated."
Elsewhere, Retribution offers viewers a look at the living, the dead and the undead of the Resident Evil universe with interactive database "Project Alice," while The Final Chapter offers the "Retaliation Mode" featurette, in which Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson discuss the world of Resident Evil and some of the film's most pivotal scenes.
All included films feature included commentary from directors, filmmakers, writers and producers, in addition to theatrical trailers, and even more featurette content — giving viewers a view of Raccoon City and the world of Resident Evil unlike any other.
