Gareth Evans managed to push the boundaries of action with his amazing franchise The Raid, and now he's found inspiration in a new partnership. The writer-director has signed an exclusive deal with Netflix, and his first movie for the streamer will be an action-thriller starring Tom Hardy.
As Deadline reports, the Evans/Hardy flick is called Havoc. The story follows the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong, where a detective "must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son, while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city."
In other words, there is probably going to be a lot of punching and shooting.
Evans had previously worked with Netflix on the horror show Apostle, which starred Dan Stevens. He's since made other things for other companies, but from now on he'll be exclusive with Netflix.
