As previously reported, Nicolas Cage won the cursed casting lottery that will allow him to play the role of Joe Exotic in an upcoming scripted retelling of the Tiger King story. While the doc it's based on will forever be synonymous with Netflix, however, the new Tiger King show actually has a different streaming home.

The new series has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video. It's unclear exactly when it will come out, but the show is being headed up by Dan Lagana, who created the Netflix comedy American Vandal.

The show is going to follow the meteoric rise and fall of Exotic, whose life and career is packed full of memeable moments and controversy.

Lagana's show was already in the works before Netflix dropped Tiger King, and another scripted show about the life of Carole Baskin is in the works starring Kate McKinnon in the role. That one will come out on Peacock.

It's safe to say we're going to be stuck with Tiger King-related content for years to come.
