The Most Iconic Character in 'Euphoria' Season 2 Is a 'Sopranos' Alumna, Obviously

Kathrine Narducci, the actress who previously portrayed Charmaine Bucco, is also known for her role as Carrie Bufalino in 'The Irishman'

Following the explosive premiere of the long-awaited second season of HBO/Sam Levinson's Euphoria last night (January 9), series stars and fans alike are hailing a surprise cameo from Kathrine Narducci as both iconic and camp.

In the episode (spoilers), we're introduced to a younger version of Fezco's (Angus Cloud) grandmother Kitty (Narducci), a former drug dealer and Fez's business partner, who eventually falls into a coma. In flashbacks, we learn of Kitty's often violent badassery and how it relates to Fez's head injury. Grandma's business style goes on to inspire Fez to attack Nate (Jacob Elordi) with a handle of vodka and beat the absolute living shit out of him as payback for transgressions from Season 1.

It's all wildly dramatic for Fez — as well as Maude Apatow's Lexi, who appears to be forming a romantic attachment to Fez — but naturally, Twitter has fixated on Narducci's cameo instead, with some even begging for a spinoff. But who is Narducci?

You may recognize the actress as Charmaine Bucco, the wife of Artie Bucco (John Ventimiglia) on The Sopranos. Though Charmaine was never truly involved in the darker side of organized crime on Sopranos, Narducci has apparently nonetheless retained the gruffness necessary to play an organized crime boss — or a drug dealer, in this case — as she's decked out in a series of matching pantsuits and expertly wielding a tire iron and gun (to shoot out some kneecaps, of course).

In addition to her role on The Sopranos, Narducci is also known for her roles as Carrie Bufalino in The Irishman and Olympia Gigante on Godfather of Harlem, as well as spots in Blue Bloods, Power and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Whether or not young grandma Kitty is due to return to the series is unclear, but fingers crossed for Narducci and viewers alike. Euphoria Season 2, Episode 2 is due to air this Sunday (January 16).
