Is it just us or did time suddenly slow down and move in a stunning three-dimensional direction as green-coloured binary code appeared all around us? There's a good reason for that feeling — The Matrix 4 is officially happening.
The recently rumoured sequel has been solidified, and everyone's back for the action, Variety reports. Keanu Reeves will return as Neo, alongside Carrie-Anne Moss who is back as Trinity. The film will be written and directed by Lana Wachowski.
"We could not be more excited to be re-entering The Matrix with Lana," said Warner Bros. charman Toby Emmerich. "Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in The Matrix universe."
The film is expected to start production early next year.
