Having won both the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, the film world is buzzing over Nate Parker's directorial debut The Birth of a Nation. We'll have to wait until Oscar season to see it, but today we get our first taste with a new trailer.
Parker wrote and directed the film, and he also stars as Nat Turner — a preacher who has been hired to subdue unruly slaves in the American south. As he witnesses more and more atrocities, he leads the slaves in an uprising.
