Ahead of The Big Bang Theory's new season premiere next month, CBS, Warner Bros. TV and Chuck Lorre Productions have announced that the show's upcoming 12th season will be its last.
In a joint statement, the network and producers wrote, "We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show's success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close."
Upon the season's completion in 2019, The Big Bang Theory will be one of the longest-running multi-camera comedy in television history, Warner noted in a press release.
Of course, a dominant Canadian tie can be found in the the show's theme song, which was written and recorded by Barenaked Ladies.
