Long-running American news magazine program 60 Minutes has announced that Tanya Tagaq will be profiled on their upcoming Sunday night episode.

The profile, which airs May 5 at 7 p.m. EDT on CBS, finds journalist Jon Wertheim travelling to Tagaq's hometown of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, to learn more about the traditional form of Inuit throat singing.

Teasing the episode on Twitter, the show wrote, "We have profiled countless musicians in our 51 years, but we've never heard anything like Tanya Tagaq."

First airing in 1968, 60 Minutes is currently in its 51st season. You can watch a brief preview of the profile here.

Tagaq delivered her Toothsayer EP in March of this year. Last year, she released book Split Tooth.
