Grammy-winning musician Annie Clark — a.k.a. St. Vincent — and Carrie Brownstein of Portlandia and Sleater-Kinney notoriety find themselves at odds with their fame, friendship and identity in the new trailer for The Nowhere Inn

Directed by Bill Benz, the mockumentary-style film follows Brownstein as she tries to document the dramatic life of her real-life best friend, St. Vincent. Both women are playing themselves in the film, and it's quite a sight to see.

Prior to the film, Brownstein and Clark worked together on Sleater-Kinney's 2019 album, The Center Won't Hold. In addition to starring, producing and writing alongside Brownstein, Clark also composed, recorded and produced the soundtrack for the film.

As previously reported, The Nowhere Inn is set to be released on September 17 in theatres and VOD.
