'Skate Kitchen' Director Crystal Moselle Is Making a Female Skateboarder Comedy for HBO

She's working with 'Love' co-creator Lesley Arfin

Earlier this year, director Crystal Moselle delivered the fantastic and severely underrated Skate Kitchen. Now, it looks as if she'll hit the pavement once more with a new series for HBO.

The series is being developed with Lesley Arfin, who also co-created Love for Netflix. It's unclear if the show will be based on the same characters from Skate Kitchen — for now, we know that the series is "inspired" by the show.

"As girls we were never brave enough to try skateboarding. We're excited to work on a project that could potentially get other girls to feel inspired enough to face their fears, fight the patriarchy and start shredding," Moselle and Arfin said in a joint statement. "Women are changing the game across industries all over this country. Why not add skateboarding to that list?"

Until the series arrives, watch the trailer for Skate Kitchen below.
