Seth Rogen Thinks Those 'Black Mirror' Robot Dogs Look Like They Could Kill Us All

"It would actually be funny if they did… kill us all"

Boston Dynamics' autonomous robot dogs are arguably best known for the use of their image as heat-seeking killers in Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror — and Seth Rogen seems to agree.

After one was found roaming in the wild and before another was spotted working in NYPD's tactical mobile robo-dog fleet, the Boston Dynamics robot family was getting up to something a little more lighthearted: choreographed dancing.

Despite the happy-go-lucky nature of the video, many were still convinced that the robots' ultimate goal was to destroy all humans — and Rogen seems to think it's at least a comedic possibility.

"It would actually be funny if they did… kill us all," Rogen tweeted in response to a BD dance video captioned "Imagine what AI-powered machines will be able to do in the next 5-10 years."

Perhaps in an attempt to divorce the creepy robots from their dystopian portrayal in Black Mirror, Hyundai Motor Company recently announced its newly-acquired 80 percent stake in Boston Dynamics with a fluffy promotional video and a statement that it intends to "enhance people's lives and promote safety, thereby realizing the progress for humanity" — whatever that means.
