See Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe in First Official Trailer for New Film 'Blonde'

Arriving on Netflix September 23

It's unlikely that Marilyn Monroe will ever fully fade from the public consciousness — whether she's having her garments allegedly ruined by Kardashians or having her image appear in the endless stream of biopics, documentaries, biographies and magazine spreads that've come out since her death, the spirit of Marilyn is everywhere.

And now, we get yet another chance to dissect the life of Norma Jeane Mortenson (or some version of her anyway) with Andrew Dominik's Blonde, starring Ana de Armas and based on Joyce Carol Oates' 2000 bestseller of the same name.

There's been chatter about the film for a few years now, but today Netflix has shared the first official trailer. The brief clip features several snapshots of iconic Marilyn moments, from the white dress to "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" (an eerie version of which soundtracks the trailer). It also features de Armas crying in the mirror and being jostled by a swarm of photographers.

It should be noted that Oates' book is not considered to be a biography — the author herself has said that the novel is a work of fiction — so Blonde probably won't function like your typical biopic.

The film is set to arrive on September 23. Check out the trailer below.
