Following the runaway success of The Mandalorian, it should come as no surprise that producers are planning to focus more Star Wars energy on the Disney+ streaming service. Up next, director Leslye Headland will write and work as a showrunner on a new Star Wars.

Headland, who previously co-created Netflix's popular Russian Doll series, is hard at work on the series, though details are scarce. Variety explained that the show will have a "female-centric point of view."

Prior to Russian Doll, Headland directed the films Sleeping with Other People and Bachelorette. Her other television experience includes directing episodes of SMiLFHeathers and Blunt Talk.

Headland's deal with Disney+ was actually finalized last year. Stay tuned for more information on her show as it becomes available.
