'RuPaul's Drag Race' Fans Are Pissed About Last Night's 'All Stars 3' Finale

Last night (March 15), RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars crowned the winner of its third season — but not before fans were gagged by a finale twist that resulted in a controversial ruling on the final two.

After the final four contestants — Shangela, Trixie Mattel, BeBe Zahara Benet and Kennedy Davenport — filmed a one-shot live take of a "Kitty Girl" music video, RuPaul revealed that the eliminated drag queens would be returning to vote on who got to go to the final two.

Trixie and Kennedy ultimately earned the top two spots, with the former taking home the season's top "All Star" honour.

Benet was unsurprisingly left out, due in part to her weaker performances, haughty demeanour and the fact that she'd already won a crown on the very first season of Drag Race. But Shangela's elimination sent social media into a frenzy.

Sure, you could argue that Shangela's chance of getting votes was decreased because her previous challenge wins forced her to eliminate a handful of the queens on the jury, but if voting had based solely on merit, it's hard to imagine Shangela getting the boot.

She may not have won All Stars 3, but Shangela clearly has a solid fan base behind her — and given her previous Drag Race record, it's not out of the question that she'll jump out of a box and yell "Halleloo!" in a future season of the show.
