Report: Ben Affleck Doesn't Want to Play Batman Anymore

Ben Affleck is not having the best time playing Batman. After donning the cape in two of 2016's most hated films (Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad), he's been flip-flopping on Warner Bros. standalone Batman movie. Now, reports indicate he wants out altogether.

Speaking with Collider, film writer John Campea says the buzz around Hollywood is that Affleck is tired of playing the Dark Knight. He spoke to three people connected to the project, and they all confirmed that Affleck wants out.

"What has come out of the conversation with all three was this. They're telling me that, Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he does want out," Campea said."He doesn't want to be Batman anymore. I have been told that Affleck is talking with Warner Bros. in an attempt to get out of being Batman."

If Warner Bros. doesn't allow Affleck out of his contract, the standalone Batman film will likely be the last time he takes on the role. The film, which was supposedly going to come out next year, currently has Cloverfield director Matt Reeves in the running to helm.
