While Queens of the Stone Age delivered Villains earlier this year, frontman Josh Homme and a pair of his bandmates have found time to pen a new soundtrack. As previously reported, it's for the new film by Fatih Akin called In the Fade, and it features a series of new original music written by Homme.
The soundtrack includes a series of songs by Homme (here going by Joshua Homme), with the tracks also featuring QOTSA members Michael Shuman and Troy Van Leeuwen. Besides their new original work, the soundtrack to In the Fade features previously released songs by Faith No More, Courtney Barnett and Lykke Li.
As Film Music Reporter points out, the soundtrack was just released digitally today (November 24) overseas via Milan Records, who will release the album physically next month.
In the Fade was written and directed by Akin and stars Diane Kruger, Denis Moschitto, Numan Acar and Johannes Krisch. It premiered at Cannes earlier this year and will be released in select theatres here in North America on December 27.
