Phoenix to Contribute New Original Music to Sofia Coppola's 'The Beguiled'

We recently got our first glimpse of Sofia Coppola's upcoming film The Beguiled, a remake of the 1971 drama of the same name. Up to now, though, we've yet to hear much about the movie's soundtrack — or at least until now.

As Film Music Reporter points out, The Beguiled will feature new original music composed by Phoenix. Of course, this hardly comes as a surprise considering Coppola is married to Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars and the band have previously contributed music to various other films by the director, such as Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette.

So far, there is no word, however, on when or if we might expect a soundtrack for The Beguiled, which stars Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell alongside the frequent Coppola collaborators Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning.

That said, Phoenix will release their new album Ti Amo on June 9 via Loyaute/Glassnote. They also have a tour coming up, and you can see all their dates here.

The Beguiled, meanwhile, hits theatres on June 23. You can watch a trailer for the film below.
