My Favorite Murder podcast hosts Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff have announced plans for a new main-feed miniseries called "Celebrity Hometowns," which is due to premiere alongside their regular programming tomorrow (October 27).

The hosts have enlisted Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz, "friend of the pod" Phoebe Bridgers, Wanda Sykes and more to tell their own "Hometown Stories," a regular feature on their podcast's weekly "minisodes," in which fans write in with their local true-crime stories.

Kilgariff and Hardstark told ET that the new series is inspired by their dedicated listeners, who have "spent the last five years sending us their hometown stories for our minisodes, which now includes everything from the local true crimes that first piqued their interest in the genre to family ghost stories to the hilarious trouble they got into as latchkey kids."

They added that these fresh episodes are their way of saying thanks for taking an extended break over the summer. "We could've sent everyone flowers, but that'd be a logistical nightmare. This way is much easier and much more glamorous," they said.

The podcast duo's network Exactly Right Media will host the specials every Wednesday from tomorrow through to the end of the year.
