Why shouldn't Phoebe Bridgers, Fred Durst and Lindsey Jordan of Snail Mail be co-stars in a horror movie?

This is what the fine folks at A24 bravely asked — and chose to answer for themselves by getting all three blonde musicians on board for forthcoming horror flick I Saw the TV Glow, as per The Hollywood Reporter's reporting.

Directed by Jane Schoenbrun (We're All Going to the World's Fair), the film reportedly wrapped production a couple weeks ago. It also features appearances by King Woman and Sloppy Jane, the musical project of Haley Dahl, in which noted skeleton-lover Bridgers used to play bass.

Starring Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine, I Saw the TV Glow follows two outcast teenagers who bond over their mutual love of a scary TV show. When said show is mysteriously cancelled, they find the boundary between TV and reality starting to become less and less clear.

The cast additionally includes Helena Howard, Danielle Deadwyler, Amber Benson, Ian Foreman, Michael Maronna, Conner O'Malley, Emma Portner and Danny Tamberelli, and the film is being co-produced by Emma Stone's banner Fruit Tree.

If any company were to make something with a nebulous collection of musical star power this strong, it would certainly be A24; Frank Ocean is in talks to direct his first feature film with the company, which also tapped Megan Thee Stallion to make her acting debut in the R-rated musical-comedy F*cking Identical Twins.
