Charli Noxon, the son of Orange Is the New Black and Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, died on Tuesday (December 31) due to a ski accident. He was 20 years old.
Noxon was on vacation in Park City, UT, with his father and two siblings. The Park City Mountain Resort confirmed that he was involved in a ski accident on an intermediate trail, and he was pronounced dead after "further emergency care and evaluation."
Noxon lived in Los Angeles and was a junior at Columbia University.
His father, Christopher Noxon, issued a statement to CNN. It reads:
Charlie was brilliant, kind, funny, sensitive and loving. He was keenly interested in and deeply curious about the world around him from the time he was a small child. People describe people as brilliant — but Charlie was truly brilliant. We will miss his sweet smile, piercing questions, and big heart. We already do.
Kohan has yet to make a public statement.
