Netflix Officially Orders 12 Episodes of 'Black Mirror'

Earlier this month, Netflix hinted that they were about to order new episodes of Charlie Brooker's chilling anthology series Black Mirror. Now, they've officially confirmed the news.

We'd like to imagine that Netflix finally pulled the trigger after Brooker revealed himself to be a psychic in the realm of pig-fucking. Either way, 12 new episodes of the series are officially in the works.

Brooker responded to the news in a statement. "It's all very exciting — a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable," he said. "Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that Black Mirror feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true."

The new episodes of Black Mirror will begin shooting later this year. In the UK, the show might still come out on Channel 4 before hitting Netflix, though that's still being negotiated.
