Netflix Cancels 'Altered Carbon' After Two Seasons

Netflix manages to pump out hundreds and hundreds of titles on the regular, but the streaming service has also become a little more ruthless with cancellations in recent years. The streaming hub's latest casualty is the sci-fi series Altered Carbon, which has been cancelled after two seasons.

Altered Carbon was based on the novel of the same name from Richard K. Morgan. It starred Joel Kinnaman and Anthony Mackie. While nothing has been announced officially, Variety cites a source who suggests the show simply didn't have a large enough viewership to justify its cost.

In addition to two live-action seasons of the show, Altered Carbon was also treated to an anime special called Resleeved last year.
