We recently learned that Victoria's the Vic Theatre was set to open today following a lengthy closure due to COVID-19. It turns out that it's not the only movie theatre reopening in British Columbia.

The BC theatre chain Hollywood 3 Cinemas will also reopen its locations in White Rock, Surrey, Pitt Meadows and Duncan.

The theatre chain made the following announcement on its website:

We will be open daily with limited seating per show time to accommodate physical distancing. While we are looking forward to seeing you all at our theatres and truly appreciate your support, we ask that you please arrive early to secure your seats. Our staff is following all government protocals that our company has put forth for everyones safety.

While we are so happy to be re-opening, it will be an uphill journey for us to keep our doors open for you. We are an independant locally owned and run business and cannot survive without your support. We encourage you to please spread the word about our opening and also request your supporting our concession…and not just because we have the best popcorn out there!

Hollywood 3 Cinemas will only allow a maximum of 50 people in each auditorium. The seats will be spread out to promote social distancing, although families that live together will be allowed to sit together.

The cinemas will kick off their reopening with nightly screenings of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Trolls World Tour. For more information, go here
