According to actor Zach Gilligan, we'll definitely, unquestionably be seeing a third Gremlins movie at some point in time. Of course, he's been talking about it for so many years that it's hard to know when it'll finally arrive. When it does, however, it's safe to say that the third Gremlins movie probably won't take place on a plane.
Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, two screenwriters who wrote Friday the 13th and a draft of Freddy vs. Jason, recently revealed bits and pieces of their rejected pitch for a new Gremlins movie.
The pitch, available to read below, opens inside a plane, where a dropped snack prompts the Gremlins to attack. Sadly, it doesn't include the line, "I've had it with these motherfucking gremlins on this motherfucking plane."
