Best known for films like Drive, Bronson, The Neon Demon and Only God Forgives, cinematic auteur Nicolas Winding Refn is next trying his hand at a television series. Today, the first trailer arrived for Too Old to Die Young and, well, it looks awfully familiar.
The series stars Miles Teller as a gruff, mopey Ryan Gosling type. He's a cop whose mistakes have accidentally created some extremely melodramatic tension.
In addition to Teller, the show features Jena Malone, Billy Baldwin, John Hawkes, Nell Tiger Free, Babs Olusanmokun, Callie Hernandez and Cristina Rodlo
An official synopsis for the series says it follows "characters' existential journeys from being killers to becoming samurais in the city of angels." Whatever the hell that means, it also looks like a mish-mash of Refn's other projects that led up to this point. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The series hits Amazon Prime Video on June 14. Refn directed all 10 episodes, and rumour has it they each surpass the 90-minute mark.
