Michael Moore Says Tom Hanks or Oprah Should Run for President

Michael Moore tried his damnedest to warn America about Donald Trump's looming presidency, but against all odds the reality TV star won and will soon take office. As such, the DNC is aiming to make a plan for 2020 and Moore has a solid idea — why not copy the Republicans and get a celebrity to run?

Speaking with CNN, Moore said the Democrats would be wise to nominate a well-liked celebrity in 2020. He already has some pretty untouchable names in mind.

"Democrats would be better off if they ran Oprah or Tom Hanks," he said. "Why don't we run beloved people?

"We have so many of them," he continued. "The Republicans do this — they run Reagan and the Terminator and other people.... Why don't we run somebody that the American people love and are really drawn to, and that are smart and have good politics and all that?"

Of course, one well-known celebrity has said he'll run in 2020 — Kanye West. Then again, he might be too polarizing a figure to actually win the election.
