Netflix's Tidying Up guru Marie Kondo has signed on for a new home makeover/organization television project with the streamer titled Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo.

The series, which has yet to receive an official release date, will apply Kondo's KonMari method of reducing clutter, "not just to people's homes, but also to businesses, relationships and communities," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will also offer a sneak-peek into Kondo's own home and family life.

A synopsis reads:

Global organization icon and best-selling author Marie Kondo takes her signature approach to tidying up a step further in her new, transformational Netflix series, Sparking Joy. Marie shows us how the fundamentals of her method can affect our businesses, relationships and communities. The impacts of tidying are surprising, emotional and transformative in the lives of the people Marie meets.

Kondo's original Tidying Up series first aired on Netflix back in 2019, prompting just about anyone who tuned in to throw away all their earthly possessions in an effort to "spark joy" and unburden themselves from too many belongings.

Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of unscripted and documentary series, said in a statement: "When I went to Goodwill to donate several bags of clothing (that I had lovingly 'thanked'), the employee asked me, 'Did you watch that Marie Kondo show on Netflix?'"

He continued: "She excitedly informed me about the surge in donations following the show's debut. For me personally, it was gratifying to see the widespread positive impact of Marie's methods, and the series in general."

Alfred Street Industries and KonMari Media Inc. are on board to produce the series, with Queer Eye's Rachelle Mendez acting as showrunner and executive producer.
