Machine Gun Kelly has been cast as Tommy Lee in an upcoming Mötley Crüe biopic.
Born Colson Baker, Machine Gun Kelly previously appeared in Roadies, but is best known for his rap career. His most recent album Bloom was released last year, and features a collaboration with Camila Cabello.
He confirmed the casting on Twitter last night (January 18), and pledged that he would learn how to drum just like Lee — thanks to some help from his little brother.
Titled The Dirt, the upcoming film is indeed a Netflix adaptation of the hair band's 2001 autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band.
Jeff Tremaine of Jackass fame will direct the film, while the script was written by Rich Wilkes and Tom Kapinos.
The members of Mötley Crüe, meanwhile, have signed on as co-producers.
