Kurupt FM and Craig David Bring the Heat — and the Green Screen — with Their "Summertime" Video

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jun 9, 2021

You best believe Kurupt FM are heating things up this summer. Not only are the People Just Do Nothing crew releasing their very own movie Big in Japan, but they scored Craig David for their new single "Summertime." Now they have treated the track to a very People Just Do Nothing video.

Coming as a true Chabuddy G production, the clip features all our Kurupt FM favourites. This means that in addition to MC Grindah and DJ Beats, we have lots of DJ Steves, Decoy and, yes, Chabuddy (though no Miche and Roche). Craig David also pops up IRL to do his thing to great effect.

On the surface, the "Summertime" clip is very much your typical summer rap video, with lots of beaches, rides and ladies. Tough we have to remember where this is actually getting shot — Brentford, UK. So pretty soon the whole thing takes a page straight out of Famalam and unravels.

See what we mean by watching the video for the excellent "Summertime" below.

As previously reported, People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan officially arrives August 18. You can revisit the trailer below.
