There's going to be a new He-Man series from filmmaker Kevin Smith. Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be coming to Netflix soon.

The series is animated, and it will apparently pick up right where the '80s cartoon left off. According to a description from Netflix, the show will tell "the epic tale of what may be He-Man and Skeletor's final battle."

They broke the news at Power-Con in Anaheim, CA. The poster is above. Smith said in a statement [via Variety], "I'm Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe."

He added, "This is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!"

Mattel Television is producing the series with executive producer Rob David. Powerhouse Animation is handling the animation. Below, read the official synopsis, courtesy of Twitter user @PixelDan.
