Jim Davis Is Executive Producing an Animated Garfield Movie

Finally, a Monday that we don't have to hate. Today (May 23), the news has broken that beloved lazy cat Garfield will get his own animated movie franchise. The less we talk about Bill Murray's live-action/CGI Garfield movies the better.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garf and his friends will be back with a new, all-animated batch of movies.

The flicks will be produced by John Cohen (The Angry Birds Movie) and Steven P. Wegner for Alcon Entertainment. Better yet, it'll also be executive produced by Garfield creator Jim Davis.

The first animated Garfield movie is currently being written, and the plan is to turn the animated flick into a new franchise.

While we don't have plot details just yet, we're guessing the movie will involve Garfield being lazy, Odie being dumb and Jon Arbuckle being a pathetic fucking loser, as usual.
