We already knew that IT: Chapter Two would feature adult versions of the Young Losers Club, but there's a problem — the kids cast to play the Young Losers are becoming young adults themselves. As such, they've had to be digitally de-aged for the new movie.
In an interview with Total Film [via Syfy], director Andy Muschietti explained that they had to use CGI to make some of the kids look the same as how they did in the first IT movie.
"Well, it's better to shoot it two years later than five years later. But in those two years, they grew up quite a bit," he said. "Not all of them. Sophia looks exactly the same. Jaeden looks pretty much the same. Finn grew up quite a bit, and he's a tall guy….But from the beginning, we knew that that would be part of the budget, the visual effects to address that. So we're going to de-age the kids."
Of course, we're all going to age a little bit when IT: Chapter Two hits theatres on September 6. After all, the film is nearly three hours long.
