In the wake of the recent Stooges doc Gimme Danger and Post Pop Depression, Iggy Pop is branching out with more new music, and this time, it will come with the help of esteemed producer Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton).

Pop and Danger Mouse have team up for a new song called "Gold," according to Film Music Reporter. Apparently, the track will appear on the upcoming film Gold from director Stephen Gaghan, with Pop and Danger Mouse's contribution playing over the end titles. The film's composer, Daniel Pemberton, apparently also helped with the collaborative track.

Gold stars Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Bruce Greenwood and Stacy Keach. The film follows a modern-day prospector and a geologist as the "unlikely pair venture to the Indonesian jungle in search of gold."

The film is due out on December 25 via the Weinstein Company. You can watch a trailer below.

Iggy Pop and Danger Mouse previously teamed up the Dark Night of the Soul album with Sparklehorse in 2010.
