Kevin Smith is a busy guy. But among the filmmaker's many upcoming projects is his Netflix series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and today we're getting a big first look at it.
Netflix has shared a bunch of new images from Smith's upcoming CG-animated reboot of the classic fantasy franchise based on the Mattel toys. The five-episode Part 1 of the series is set to arrive on July 23, but right now, we can finally get an idea of what to expect.
As you'll see below, there are a ton of classic characters coming back for the show, which finds Smith as its showrunner and executive producer. Besides He-Man/Prince Adam, we can now see Skeletor, Moss Man, Beast Man, Orko and Sorceress, among others.
The voice cast for the series is led by Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Chris Wood as Prince Adam / He-Man, and Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn. Other voices are provided by Liam Cunningham, Stephen Root, Diedrich Bader, Henry Rollins, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long, Jason Mewes, Phil LaMarr, Tony Todd, Cree Summer, Kevin Michael Richardson, Kevin Conroy and Harley Quinn Smith.

On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! I watched all of the TV series growing up, it was everywhere in the '80s. These characters started off as toys and ended up becoming part of the global pop culture fabric. So much of this show has been possible because of the love and affection for this world at every level of production and the fandom surrounding this franchise. A big reason we got such top tier voice talent is because people genuinely want to be a part of this world. So many of us were touched by these stories and these characters early in our lives and were so happy to come back to Eternia. But even if you've never watched a single episode of the show or don't know this universe at all, you can jump right into the story.
