With films like Hereditary and Midsommar, Ari Aster has emerged as one of the most exciting directors out there. Now, the filmmaker is taking a big step up, as he just got Joaquin Phoenix to star in his next project.
While details are incredibly thin, Deadline reports Aster is working on his next feature, called Disappointment Blvd., for A24, and Phoenix will star in the project.
While A24 had no comment, Disappointment Blvd. is described as "an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time."
Aster and Lars Knudsen are set to produce the film with A24 through their Square Peg production banner.
Of course, Phoenix's last big role was his Oscar-winning performance in Joker, so iAster and A24 actually landing him for Disappointment Blvd. is a big win, for sure.
