Here Are the Oscars' Shortlist Nominees for Best Original Song and Score

Thom Yorke, Beyoncé, Elton John, Randy Newman, Alexandre Desplat and more are in the running

Believe it or not, Oscars season is upon us. And while to full list of nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards isn't due for another month, the shortlists for multiple categories have been announced, including those for Best Original Song and Best Original Score.

Up for the Best Original Song honours this time are Thom Yorke's "Daily Battles" from Motherless Brooklyn, Beyoncé's "Spirit" from The Lion King, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo's "Letter to My Godfather" from The Black Godfather, Elton John and Tim Rice's "Never Too Late" from The Lion King, Elton John and Bernie Taupin's "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from Rocketman, Randy Newman's "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away" from Toy Story 4, and T-Pain and Lay Lay's "Catchy Song" from The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, and Jung Jaie Il and Choi Wooshik "A Glass of Soju" from Parasite, among others.

As for Best Original Score, the shortlisted nominees include Alexandre Desplat for Little Women, Hildur Guðnadóttir for Joker, Nicholas Britell for The King, Daniel Pemberton for Motherless Brooklyn, John Williams for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Randy Newman for Marriage Story and more.

Other categories who have received shortlists are Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, and Visual Effects.

The 92 Academy Awards will take place on February 9, with the full list of nominees being revealed on January 13.
