Over a year on from news that Adult Swim would adapt Aqua Teen Hunger Force for another feature film, we now have our first look at the project, complete with a theme song from Run the Jewels.
Today, El-P and Killer Mike have shared their "Opening Theme" for Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, and you can hear the duo's team-up below. In our opinion, it's a certainly a charged-up spiritual successor to the original show's theme performed by Schoolly D.
As you'll see in an accompanying trailer, Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm follows the reunion of Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad and their neighbour Carl to fight corporate overlord Amazin, led by tech mogul Neil (voiced by Peter Serafinowicz) and his scientist sidekick, Elmer (Paul Walter Hauser).
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, premiered with the official launch of Adult Swim in September 2001, running for 11 seasons.
It was also adapted for Adult Swim's first feature-length film, 2007's Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, which featured late Rush drummer Neil Peart (as himself) and Mastodon (uncredited) in its cast.
Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm arrives November 8 on Digital, 4K and Blu-ray. The show's tenth season — dubbed Aqua TV Show Show — featured a theme song composed by Flying Lotus.
