After GLOW was unceremoniously terminated by Netflix, series creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch are picking themselves back up again with a star-studded new project for Apple. The show is called Roar, and it will star Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo and Merrit Wever, as well as the return of GLOW's Alison Brie.

News of the show arrives via Variety, which explains that the project will be an anthology of "darkly comic feminist fables." It is being based on Cecilia Ahern's book of short stories of the same name, and Apple has ordered eight half-hour episodes for its Apple TV+ streaming service.

Roar marks Flahive and Mensch's first project for Apple after inking an overall deal with the company. In addition to serving as showrunners, the pair will be executive producing the series.

As is so often the case, it's unclear when Roar will arrive on Apple TV+.
