Ozzy Osbourne has led quite the life, so it makes total sense he's set to get his very own biopic. Following rumours earlier this year that the Black Sabbath singer and wife Sharon Osbourne would have their story told on the silver screen, their son Jack has confirmed the project is very much alive and moving.
"There is absolutely things in motion right now to make that a reality," Jack Osbourne said during his recent appearance on The Jasta Show. "I think in the next few months, you'll probably see something coming up about it. But we haven't landed [at a studio] yet. So, fingers crossed."
The news comes after Sharon Osbourne revealed she and Ozzy had chosen a script and plot for the biopic after going through multiple scripting options.
"Our story is a love story, and it happens that he's a musician," she told the Los Angeles Times in February. "We're working in our own quiet way, doing our own thing on that. It's totally different to what anybody would think."
At the time, Ozzy also confirmed a film about their life was "in the pipeline" but said he knew little else about the in-the-works project.
As Jack Osbourne revealed to The Jasta Show, the biopic will centre on Ozzy and Sharon's early years and the beginnings of their relationship.
"I think the time period I would do it in, I would be a child in it," Jack said. "So I wouldn't be so heavily featured. It's gonna be more about my mom and dad making their way through the world. I would be in the background just being annoying."
Elaborating about the project in January, Sharon told Variety she had approached Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) about directing the film, which she at the time said would end when she married Ozzy in 1982. However, no director for the project has been officially confirmed.
"I don't want to do another rock 'n' roll, sex, drugs and money movie about a musician," Sharon told Variety. "That's not what I'm doing. There hasn't been a movie about a woman that actually works on the management side — that's a true story — and somebody that succeeds through the struggle and you come out the other side."
She added, "It's everything before we get married. It's the madness of my childhood, growing up in the industry with a powerful father who was somewhat violent."
